While the position is supporting our Online Campus and our Online Students, this role will require regular, daily office hours. Candidates not locate to Fairfax, VA will not be considered for this role, as the University is unable to provide relocation.

Functions

  • Establish and maintain active communications with students on an on-going basis. 
  • Take students on a journey of self-discovery of hidden abilities and capabilities
  • Develop group and individual career coaching sessions, classroom and workshop presentations.
  • Bolster written and verbal communication skills to differentiate them from the pack
  • Identify innovative job search methods, skills and interview preparation
  • Oversee productive and lasting relationships with employers in the community who employ students
  • Maintain a high level of career placement of students and graduates
  • Manage a continuous pipeline of highly qualified, productive and extraordinary graduates for hire

 

The Skills:

 

  • Sensitivity to the needs of students to help them successfully select and transition into their desired career field   
  • High energy, outgoing personality and professional attitude, strong sense of empathy
  • Ability to demonstrate self-direction and motivation while making work fun and enjoyable
  • Ability to inspire students to reach for the stars, and provide them with the tools to succeed
  • Strong writing, proof reading, and editing skills, particularly in resume and cover letter formats

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher will give you an advantage.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a relevant career field.
  • A record of ongoing student and community involvement to support your successes
