    Overview: 

    As an inspired student of Stratford University, you are uniquely what we are searching for to fill this position. You will be given the opportunity to gain job experience, while helping shape Stratford University. Greeting visitors with a smile and a warm welcome are essential for this role. The Domestic Student Worker will report directly to the Campus Leadership team.

    Functions

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Welcome all visitors and address any inquiries
    • Joyfully complete assigned administrative duties.
    • Demonstrate courteous communication skills both orally and in writing
    • Conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards
    • Assist University Wide Program Director of Culinary arts with e-mail communications.
    • Assist University Wide Program Director of Culinary arts with clerical work duties in the office
    • Assist in developing catalog and class schedules for SU Extension program and recreational cooking class offerings
    • Assist to establish a standard recipe file, picture library and documentation of best practices for Culinary and Hospitality Program on a share drive concept for University wide use.
    • Project assistant for new Chaine Kitchen, renovation, equipment research and product specifications.
    • Assist with outreach and community events, including food preparation and cooking demonstrations.
    • May be responsible for ordering food and ensure the fridges are adequately stocked
    • Ability to handle other tasks as assigned by Campus Leadership, including the University Program Director of Culinary Arts

    • Good oral, written, reporting and presentation communication skills
    • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations.

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Current student at Stratford University
    • Must be a current Culinary Arts Student
    • Good general business knowledge
    • Proven ability to function in a for-profit environment
    • Workweek not to exceed 25 hours/week
    • Some evenings and weekends may be required
