    Overview: 

     

    Providing exceptional customer service and financial counseling to new students, continuing students and alumni, the Student Account Officer handles the financial aid process from dollar signs to decimal points. Responsible for financial aid packaging and tracking, the Student Account Officer provides predictable payment projects for students and predictable cash flows for Corporate Finance.

     

    Functions

    • Provide high-level customer service to all students at all times (current and former).
    • Responsible for financial aid packaging, tracking and federal reporting
    • Maintain and compile statistical data and summarize into report or analyses.
    • Identifies problems, compares data to draw conclusions, and develop goals/plans for resolution and implementation.
    • Treat all students and faculty with dignity and respect
    • Recommend changes and improvements in processes
    • Remain current on all federal, state and university roles, regulations and policies and ensure they are followed.

    Qualifications

     

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
    • Two to four years of progressively responsible job experience
    • Demonstrated knowledge of finances/budget/accounting and personnel functions including ledger reconciliation and fiscal close.
    • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of information and materials.
    • Experience with computerized information systems, preferably PowerFAIDS, COD, and NSLDS
    • Familiarity with higher education organizations and academic policies
    • Preferred knowledge and experience with FERPA and Title IV programs.
