    The Campus President assists in fostering a culture of academic quality, growth and operational efficacy among students, faculty members, and staff. The Campus President leads all academic and operation divisions of the assigned campus. More specifically, the Campus President is responsible for identifying and prioritizing areas for academic growth and sustainability; planning and developing long and short range academic programs and engaging with other institutional leaders to improve academic quality and sustainability. Additionally, the Campus President reviews existing and proposed university academic programs and shares accountability for program improvement, faculty hiring and development, course scheduling, and  successfully driving new and returning student enrollments into university programs. The Campus President is responsible for budgetary oversight and institutional growth of the campus. The Campus President will work in a collaborative manner to develop productive relationships with other Campus leadership throughout the university as well as external constituencies, as necessary, in order to fulfill job responsibilities. The Campus President ensures campus compliance with all accreditation requirements and standards, responds to incidents including student issues. The Campus President will help implement University policies, and provide students with an academic learning environment that is conducive to academic and personal development. The Campus President has academic quality and operational oversight responsibilities and shall lead all Campus Leadership in enrollments, retention goals and with understanding, supporting, and meeting accreditation standards of existing and future accreditation initiatives.


    Essential Job Functions:

        Campus Leadership:

    • Provide leadership as assigned by the Provost Office and act as an organizational strategist to position Stratford University as a leader in the delivery of higher education and quality academic programs leading to job knowledge and successful job placement
    • Ability to attract, develop and lead a high performing academic and operation teams.
    • Implement annual course schedule for the campus that maximizes class size, faculty member qualifications and use of campus facilities
    • Meet annual expected student retention, growth, academic outcomes, accreditation requirements, and coordinate appropriate evaluation of these efforts
    • Offer thoughtful leadership, creativity, and an experienced perspective on matters relating to assigned campus academic quality
    • Hire and assign faculty that create an environment that permits efficient and effective delivery of high quality academic courses
    • Build involvement in growth and sustainability initiatives across the assigned campus among staff, students, and faculty
    • Serve on program curriculum committees, triennial review committees, and new program committees. Serve on committees, ensuring faculty voices are heard in local decision-making
    • Participation in maintaining courses and programs curriculum that is current to meet the needs of the communities we serve and local businesses who hire our graduates
    • Continuous contributions to the advancement of innovation in the classroom.
    • Participate in planning, scheduling and curriculum development, interdisciplinary functions

    Internal Communications:

    • Collaborate with Executive Leadership Team to ensure strategic direction for campus in retention, enrollments, and academic best practices
    • Recommend content, design, and implementation of academic programs and courses
    • Collaborate with faculty members, students, and program directors to ensure relevant high quality programs and courses are delivered.
    • Serve as the campus spokesperson on academic and operations excellence initiatives, program relevance, instructional design, and sustainability issues with internal constituencies
    • Attend Deans meetings

    External Relationships and Communications:

    • Build effective partnerships with local organizations and advisory groups to support growth and sustainability efforts to include student job placement upon graduation
    • Interface with counterparts at other Stratford University campuses
    • Identify opportunities to educate and involve faculty members (adjunct and fulltime) in growth and sustainability initiatives
    • Identify, seek, and secure corporate partnerships to support academic programs and leverage campus resources to further propel academic quality, growth and sustainability efforts
    • Deliver campus messages to external constituencies about academic programs, growth and sustainability and serve as a campus spokesperson on academic issues.

    • Recognize and fully support meeting all accreditation standards for the campus
    • Firm understanding of academic organization, pedagogy, student learning outcome assessment ,and adult learning theory
    • Able to foster collaborations across diverse constituencies and inspire confidence and motivate groups to collectively meet common objectives, and strong experience in participatory leadership
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, comfort with public speaking, ability to listen and learn and engender trust among various constituencies
    • Able to develop new academic programs, review existing programs and understand how to review, improve and implement new/updated academic programs.
    • Skilled at problem solving, thinking analytically and developing programs that advance the university’s strategic objectives and mission
    • Strong skills for sustained measurement of academic program outcomes, ability to work independently and with and through others to achieved desired results
    • Handles emergency and crisis situations that pertain to the campus student and faculty functioning.
    • Recommends and participates in the development of university policies and procedures


    Required Education and Experience:

    • An earned doctorate from an accredited institution. Substantial experience in a higher education leadership position, and actively pursuing a doctorate degree, will be considered in lieu of a completed doctorate degree.
    • 5 or more years of senior level leadership and experience in higher education, ideally supporting academic development.
    • Significant experience in the development and administration of curriculum, budget, personnel management, strategic planning, and the use of technology in higher education.
    • Strong leadership experience, able to foster collaboration across diverse constituencies and inspire confidence and motivate groups to collectively meet common objectives.
    • Demonstrated experience with academic strategic planning, strong fiscal management linking resource allocation to planning and priorities, data-driven decision-making and leading the ongoing efforts in support of accreditation standards.
    • Skilled at problem solving, thinking analytically and developing programs that advance the university’s strategic objectives and mission
    • Strong skills for sustained measurement of program outcomes, ability to work independently and with and through others to achieved desired results
    • Handle emergency and crisis situations that pertain to the campus and campus life
    • Serve as student disciplinarian as needed
    • Recommend and participate in the development of university policies and procedures
    • Serve on university planning and policy-making committees

    Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    • University Campus Environment
    • Will require sitting for long periods of time, in addition to standing, kneeling, and walking through the campus on a regular basis.
    • Will require walking into and being around kitchen equipment, familiarity and comfort ensuring the cleanliness of the culinary departments.
    • May require prolonged periods of utilizing a telephone, and looking at a computer screen
    • May require long hours, to provide support to faculty from morning classes to evening classes
    • Local travel to University Administration, Meetings, Conference and other local campuses will be required.
    • Overnight travel may also be required
