    Synopsis of Role: 


    The Adjunct Faculty Business Administration Program Lead is responsible for the success and proper delivery of the assigned Stratford University academic program courses as well as for program oversight referring to according legal and Board regulations. Specific responsibilities will include enhancing the University’s standing as a provider of degree granting related curriculum and the development of new curriculum. The Adjunct Faculty Member is expected to work collaboratively with the Faculty Lead/Program Director, Dean, School of Business and the Campus President and academic support programs to facilitate student success and strengthen the reputation of the university by promoting excellence through curriculum development and delivery. Active participation in departmental, campus and college committees is required.


    Essential Faculty Functions:

    • Participate in the development, evaluation and revision of the curriculum in collaboration with program directors
    • Deliver the curriculum as developed by faculty and deans
    • Develop, update and maintain syllabi based upon the approved curriculum.
    • Introduce hybrid components with threaded discussions through MOODLE
    • Assist in the selection of course materials, library holdings, instructional equipment and educational resources
    • Promote student success by engaging students in the learning process
    • Utilize appropriate library resources and educational technology to enhance student learning
    • Maintain class schedules and instructional integrity through adherence to lesson plans
    • Ensure positive student outcomes through continuing assessment of student learning
    • Conduct on-going assessment of student progress
    • Accommodate students special needs and/or those who are undergoing unique circumstances and reach out to at risk students
    • Facilitate student retention and placement through positive student interactions
    • Advise and assist students in assigned academic program
    • Remain current in specialized discipline through continuing education and professional development implemented in approved Annual Faculty Development Plan
    • Participate in university wide activities for students, faculty and the community such as new student orientation, open houses, graduation exercises, faculty meetings and faculty education programs, including graduation ceremonies
    • Maintain appropriate records related to students, attendance, grades, and other documents and insure delivery to the appropriate academic administrator in a timely manner


    Essential Program Lead Functions:

    • Advise Program Director/Faculty Lead on classes to be offered each term for the program overseen
    • Advise students in the program on curriculum, class sequences, and related aspects
    • Act as primary point of contact at the campus for the field and internally, with regard to program specifics
    • Maintain according documentation if required for programmatic accreditation
    • Assure compliance with all legal and/or board requirements for the program overseen
    • Adjunct Faculty Program Lead will be responsible for identifying and utilizing community resources to enhance the delivery of the program, and building collaborative relationships within the community.
    • Responsible for working with community experts and networks to identify locations available within the community for internships/externships for students in the program, as well as subject matter experts to join the classroom as guest lectures.
    • The Program Lead will be responsible for identify and submitting to the Program Director and Campus President for approval, locations within the community that may aid additional learning opportunities to their program via field trips.

    • Ability to articulate the role of the assigned curriculum ultimately serving the broader student body

    • Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand information and ideas as presented verbally
    • Communicate academic curriculum in an interesting and academically professional manner
    • Support the University vision with respect to the assigned program
    • Perform other duties as assigned


    Required Education and Experience:

    • Earned Doctorate Degree in related field is preferred.
    • Record of successful working relationships with internal and external constituencies, including faculty, students, alumni, and the larger professional management community
    • Ability to work with external constituencies including business and industrial partners
    • Teaching, research, and community service experience
    • According credentials as required by law, boards, or Stratford University for the program overseen



    Work Environment:


    • Office environment
    • Occasional evening and weekend hours
